SIDEWALK PROGRAM APPLICATION

Houston Public Works Sidewalk Program constructs new sidewalks and ramps along streets leading to schools, major thoroughfares and improves accessibility for people with disabilities*.

ELIGIBILITY |
Must be a new sidewalk construction
Must have acceptable existing right-of-way with no ditches, slopes, large tree roots, fences, walls or obstructions
Meets all guidelines of City of Houston Code of Ordinances Article III, Sections 40-83 & 84
School Sidewalk
Students currently use the street to walk to school
Located within four blocks of a school
Does not include sidewalks around the perimeter of the school
Major Thoroughfare Sidewalk
Located along a major thoroughfare with no sidewalks
Is not located in an area with proposed future reconstruction within the next 5 years by the City, METRO, County or State
